Best art project ever.
I have just completed the fabrication of my She-Ra headpiece. Its fucking awesome! Let me explain to you in great detail how this was accomplished.
- Step 1
- Step 2
- Step 3
- Step 4
- Step 5
- Finished

Make a clay model of desired end result.

Pour thick plaster of Paris of Ploy-filla over model. You can try and contain the mix like I did, but if your mix is thick enough you might not need it.

Once plaster has hardened, you can remove the clay. This pretty much destroys your original model, so dont screw up the plaster part.

I used a flex foam called Flex-Foam-IT X from Smooth On. I got it from a shop that makes fake limbs. It start as a liquid, which make sit easy to pour and it expands to 6 times the original volume.

Voila, after it’s cured, remove from plaster cast.

Now i have to paint it gold. I won’t use spray paint because it propabably wont set. So i’ll look for an arcylic.

That was fun and informative. that is quite some substance. I always thought that pourable plastics were extremely toxic.

This stuff wasn’t too bad, however if I was pouring a large amount it might be a different story. Not stinky though, interestingly. And the results were spectacular!

I’m planning ahead for Halloween this year. I really admire your work on the She-Ra headpiece. I am going to be going as She-Ra and I’m trying to plan out the costume. Your headpiece is by far the best I’ve seen so far. I was wondering, if I paid you, would you perhaps make one for me? I’m not very good at the artsy kind of stuff and know I’d screw it up. Like I said, I’d be willing to pay you. What do you say?
