The hypnagogic state is that state between being awake and falling asleep. For some people, this is a time of visual and auditory hallucination.

Apparently, seeing spiders is quite common for people who experience hypnagogia.

In Michel Jouvet’s book, The paradox of sleep, the story of dreaming, he explores his discovery of Paradoxial Sleep as an additonal state of the brain. His experiments discovered that a part of the brain controls muscle and body paralysis when we sleep and dream. If this area of the brain is affected, the body will be able to act out in the dream state.

This thread is very interesting to those experiencing spider hallucinations.

Yay – I won something! I am a victorious MAKE Halloween contest winner! At last, I can revel in the glory. I was banned from speaking about my “baby” at home because I was getting obsessive and repetitive. But now I’m justified in my braggart ways! Congratulations also to my worthy adversaries.
Bringing death and destruction back to Halloween – This is decapitation at its finest.
