I’ve got the main outfit sewn up, and started in on the belt of severed arms. I’ve also got all of the arms jointed at the elbow. I need to hinge them on the back and work on getting the full range of mobility. I’m still pretty sure it’s going to work. It makes sense in my head anyhow. So, I should be posting with much more frequency, cause I’m on a role.
Not too sure what’s going on with the soul-collector. It could be really awesome, but I don’t think anyone wants to wear it. It’s on the backburner now.
so yeah…

Hey there… your costumes are AMAZING and have totally inspired me. I’m thinking of creating a headless zombie joey ramone costume this year. I’m a small girl, 5′4″ so i think i could make it pretty realistic… and man do i aready look like him when i try! Anywho, just trying to figure out how i’d configure the arms, so that i can hold a drink, and still pull it off. Also, any thoughts on how to get a leather jacket effect without a whole lot of unnecessary weight on my shoulders? I know yr input will totally help! Thanks!

Adriane – you question presents the difficulty of pulling off a boy version of this costume becuase the dress solves many problems. However, it can be done. I would start with a plether jacket -it’s cheaper & lighter than a real leather jacket. You’ll need big t-shirt too. What you’re going to want to do is cut a hole in the side of the shirt for your arm, and then cut a hole on the inside of the plether jacket arm. You can slip your arm through these holes and out the bottom of the sleeve. Get me? this is what I did with my costume. You stuff the top part of the jacket arm to fill it out. If you tie a plaid shirt around your neck (it would look like the waist) you willbe able to have your other arm free underneath.
    Good luck

This year, I too, am making a headless costume (thanks so much for the tutorial on the Headless Costume 2006! I would have been creating some crazy rigging contraptions that wouldn’t work if not for your ingenuity!) Like the poster from last year, mine is a male-ish (animal, actually) costume, so I can’t use the dress, but with some fake fur panels it should be alright. As for the arms, I’ve decided to cut holes out and simply wear black gloves/sleeves, that I can pull in and out as needed. (Not sure if I’ll be able to put my arm through the animal’s arm just yet. I’ll send you some pics when I’ve finished! Thanks again for all of your creativity and inspiration!!!
